Words that hurt.
Words that heal.
Words you said
that were never real.

Words not worth
not even a reply.
Words that make
you want to die.

Words that hold
a hidden meaning.
Words so bad,
not worth repeating.

Words that scar
and torture the soul.
Words unsaid
that make you feel whole.

Words that encourage
you to succeed.
Words that make
you disbelieve.

Words of secret,
not to be told.
Words of anger
that make you old.

Words that help us
to express.
Words that cause
such loneliness.

Words that mean
not a damn thing.
Words you speak
when no one’s listening.

Words of hope
that go unspoke,
it's on these words
that we choke.

Words we use
to write a poem,
to show the world
we’re all alone.

''Words we use
to write a poem,
to show the world
we’re all alone. ''

like the last 4 lines, especially how they don't go with the rhyming scheme of the rest of the poem. Changes the motion of the poem, the way the words change the theme. wow really effective

well thank you. Honestly, i don't know where this poem came from, I wrote it one day and happened to find it on my computer last night, so I thought I'd post it. I'm glad you liked some of it though and I appreciate the feedback.

Lot of words there. First verse: "Words you said that were never real." made me think of untruths someone claims later they never meant, but that were spoken for the sole purpose of hurting. Favorite verse: "Words that encourage you to succeed, Words that make you disbelieve." It shows the power that spoken words can have on another person. Maybe today I think my favorite poet (you) has written some much better words than these, but if I took the time another day to stew over these words, I'm sure I could find many words to think on. Good job. Somebody out there could find some real meaning for themselves and that's what good poetry is, right?

Yes, this one was really good! I liked it, despite what the others say!

Hey, thanks! and thanks for the +fav on it! I liked it myself, for it being just a simple poem. I hardly thought it worthy of a +fav rating though...but that's just me....and you're just crazy.....Love ya! TTYL!
