All the pain
you've come to know
will one day ease
if you don't let go.

You've lost not one,
but recently two.
They have gone
and left only you.

They look upon you
from above
and smile inside
knowing they were loved.

All the tears
you've yet to shed
cannot change
the life you led.

It's not your fault,
so don't take blame.
Life is but a gift,
death a part of the game.

I've not the words
to try and explain.
Just go with the flow
and cherish the pain.

Pain lets you know
you're still alive,
though your rusting soul
aches inside.

You can't look past this now
to a better time.
but one day you will
again feel alive.

What does this poem mean? Its very well written, but I'm curious as to what it all means. I haven't talked to you in quite a while, and, honestly, this poem worries me a bit. Even if its not written to me, I still put myself in this person's shoes. I'd really like some contact with you. I've tried calling, I've emailed...and its starting to seem like its all in vain. Good poem, but confusing...

This poem was written for someone you don't know. Someone I met on deviantart and have just recently begun to talk to, but who I thought about for some reason the other night when I got drunk. Is that explanation enough for you?

Hey, no problem. It just came to me one night for some reason. I feel sorry for your loss and the situation you're in. I've been there. Though each person's experiences vary differently, I know most of what you are going through. I just want you to know I'm hear to lend a hand....literally! I'll type and type if I need to! Anyways, I'm glad you liked the poem. I don't think many other people got it, but that's okay. As long as the person it was meant for understood it then I am happy. Thanks for the fave! TTYL!

Thanks! I came up with most of it while i was drinking the other night and didn't expect anyone to understand it but the person it was about. One of my friends read it and was totally clueless. I'm glad you liked it and hey, thanks for responding as promised! You're a man of your word, I'll give you that.

np...i try to stay tru to my word...my parents hated each other and lived different lives, but one thing they were both consistent on was telling me my word is all i've got, and to stay tru to it...i try...and i thank you for the poetry to read and the comment on my piece as well...it seems rare that anyone comments on my work esp. my writing....
